Research at the Institute of Applied Mineralogy and Economic Geology mainly focuses on the geology, mineralogy, and geochemistry of metal and non-metal ore deposits, including processes of ore formation and physicochemical aspects of hydrothermal metal transport and deposition. Further research topics are related to the petrogenesis of magmatic and metamorphic rocks as well as environmental geochemistry.
